"The Work of Art"

Art Leslie, the founder, visionary and selfless servant of the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center (HICLC), passed away, unexpectedly on November 2, 2019 leaving a hole in our hearts and a mighty mission to carry forward.
“Mr. Art” was a father figure, mentor, disciplinarian, Bible teacher, athletic coach, prankster and best friend to many. People of all ages, races and socioeconomic status identified with him. He was not a proud man; no menial task was beneath his dignity. Art loved to give hugs and was gracious with compliments. His laugh was infectious and his love boundless for the children, staff and volunteers of the HICLC.

“The Work of Art” is a book published by Shattered Media about the life and legacy of Art Leslie. Through this campaign, when people gave to the HICLC, they not only received “The Work Of Art” as a gift, they also ensured that books was sent to the HICLC for the children.

"The Work of Art" book campaign was a big success! 225 books were purchased and donated to our HICLC kids! Plus, almost $10,000 was raised for the HICLC general fund.
